Drew is originally from the United Kingdom, and he moved to Singapore 10 years ago for a role in esports and gaming marketing. He has since become an entrepreneur and Permanent Resident here in Singapore.
Building on his over 10 years of experience in marketing, Andrew wanted to combine his professional background with his desire and passion to help others to support the community here. In doing so, Andrew also built a specialised digital helpline and peer support community for youth in Singapore who struggle with mental health issues. Besides being a professional counsellor, he dedicates part of his time to volunteer his services towards helping youths navigate through the world of gaming.
He further specialises in counselling youth and adults who struggle with social anxiety, loneliness, depression, family or relationship issues, professional challenges and stress, self-esteem, gender identity and sexual orientation, and other mental health issues related to device or gaming addiction. Andrew understands the lingo of the gaming world and what keeps youths, and adults alike, hooked on to their devices. He is also exploring how mindfulness approaches could help in urge surfing and grounding oneself amongst others.
Andrew uses a hybrid approach of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) in his practice.
