Shirley has worked with people from all walks of life including children, youths, adults and families. She focuses on helping her clients to gain a new lease of life through strengthening their mental and emotional health and improving their relationships. She is fluent in Mandarin and has been counselling and conducting workshops in mandarin for years to help individuals and parents towards a healthier and holistic lifestyle. Many of her clients love that she can connect easily with them in Mandarin and English as they can express themselves more freely. She has recently been focusing on supporting teenagers through their challenges in education, relationships and mental health and also supporting young mothers and single parents towards more positive parenting.
Shirley employs a wide range of modalities in counselling such as TA (Transactional Analysis), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and mindfulness-based approach. As a Certified TA Practitioner, she helps clients to raise their self-awareness from their Life Positions, and Ego States amongst others by gaining insight of relationships with self and others. Many of her clients have shared that they saw improvements in themselves, their relationships and are better able to manage their life challenges. She has a genuine interest to know people and always desires to help and support them in whatever way that she can.
Besides her counselling experience, Shirley also has over 15 years of corporate experience and has worked with diverse industries including MNCs and Singapore SMEs. She has also ventured into China and conducted numerous seminars and talks in Chinese. She has also volunteered her services in the prison and elderly home amongst others. She believes in being a well-rounded person and thus explores opportunities to service others so that she can see things from different perspectives and be able to adapt to people from different walks of life.
In her spare time, Shirley enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys going for her walks and dances beautifully.
