Ranjini has more than a decade of experience working as an Addiction Counsellor in Singapore and is a Certified Substance Abuse Counsellor. She has vast experience in the counselling field and continues to constantly challenge herself to explore new research to support her work.
Ranjini started her journey as an Addiction Counsellor at the National Addictions Management Services IMH in 2012. There she engaged in both individual and group counselling to both patients struggling with addictions and their family members as well. She was also involved in providing residential addiction treatment where she works together with client on their individual relapse prevention plan. She further connected her patients with other community partners to support her patients.
As a Senior Caseworker at Youth Residential Services, Ministry of Social and Family Development. Ranjini provided support through therapy and community program referrals for youth referred from Courts. She facilitated family sessions to prepare both the family and youth for re-integration back home. She has collaborated with various community partners from schools of various levels and employers to better support the youths in her line of work. She had also created a Substance Program to support Youths from the Residential Services.
As a Clinical Counsellor at KK Hospital, she had provided support and counselling for women of different stages from antenatal to postnatal, miscarriage, abortion and menopausal as well as women going through IVF procedures. She has done individual, couple and family counselling when needed. She has also worked closely with parents whose children require special attention to better support them in their treatment plans.
Ranjini’s extensive experience helps her to understand and value each client’s unique experiences while helping them to feel supported and empowered. She has a wealth of experience in providing evidence-based approaches to youth rehabilitation, pre- and post-natal counselling and addiction treatment. Ranjini further tailors her approach to match her client’s individual treatment needs and has seen many clients successfully engage in long-term recovery.
